The pile midlayer or pile jacket could just be the most Norwegian outerwear invented in modern times. The very first Fiber Pile was developed by Helly Hansen in Norway in the early 60’s and has since become a favorite for many, including ourselves. It was a sophisticated technology back then with one of the highest warmth to weight ratios available.
In respect to Helly J. Hansens innovation, we’ve used two years and quite some iterations to develop a unique tribute with SERAC® DEM™ construction for optimal fit, but unlike the original, and in respect to our surroundings the SERAC® pile has fully organic and bio-degradable materials and a shape that allows for full freedom of movement. The high loft of the main wool fabric and the space between its ‘fibers allow for great insulation, comfort, and breathability.
